Serious fun is the project of Dr. Eduardo Jáuregui, a British (despite the name) psychologist, and Dr. Jesús Damián Fernández, a Spanish (in accordance with the name) educator and trainer. We're based in Madrid, Spain, where we're known as humor positivo, but have our fun-packed suitcases always at the ready. As well as carrying out our training and consulting work, we've been quite successful at establishing the 1st of April as Fun at Work Day (an idea originally proposed by Playfair) in Spain.

Oh, and we work at the coolest offices in town, which include doodle-friendly walls, an indoor orange tree and a firepole to jump down from the first floor: Hub Madrid.

Eduardo Jáuregui is a social psychologist with a BSc from the London School of Economics, an MSt from Oxford University and a PhD from the European University Institute. After writing a doctoral thesis on humor theory, supervised by British social theorist Steven Lukes, he worked for several years for several innovative companies such as Meta4 and Scient, in London and Madrid. There he worked on projects that included organizing, theming and hosting fun events, filling new office spaces with workplace toys, and adding humour to internal communications. Eduardo is a Professor at the Business and Social Sciences Department of Saint Louis University (Madrid Campus), where he teaches an innovative course on positive psychology, among other classes. He is the author of several books (among them Alta Diversión, El Sentido del Humor, and Amor y Humor) and dozens of articles on the topics of humor and positive psychology. Eduardo is a native English speaker, who speaks with a slight American" twang" after having lived 7 years in California. "Jáuregui", by the way, is pronounced something like "How-to-ghee".

Jesús Damián Fernandez Solís is a Doctor in Education Science, specialized since 1985 in the application of humour in the workplace and in personal development. He has been Professor of the Education Sciences Deparment of the Universidad Complutense (8 years) and Professor of the Human and Social Sciences of the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (6 years) Jesús Damián has published several books (including Alta Diversión, and Educar con humor) and numerous articles about humour. His English is the traditional kind spoken in his neighbourhood of Usera, in Madrid.
